We believe the best homes are never finished all at once. They grow slowly, a quilt found here, a curtain added later, a floor mattress that somehow becomes everyone’s favourite spot.
Our Story
Textiles have always shaped the way Indian homes live. An asan brought out when guests arrive, a godadi quilted by dadi, a hichko in the verandah, or a ghodiyu that has rocked generations to sleep.
Over time, many of these familiar pieces slipped out of our homes, not because they stopped being useful, but because they weren’t reimagined for the way we live today.
Takio is our attempt to bring them back. Reinterpreted for the present home, with all their original warmth, intelligence and comfort intact.
Meet the Founder
After eight years of creating handcrafted textiles for homes for brands around the world, I began wondering why the best of Indian making and modern design products often felt easier to find abroad than at home.
So with all the research and experience, I went to clusters across India and started finding the right fabrics and makers to carving blocks, mixing colours and living through many, many samples.
Takio is my way of bringing that experience home: Indian craft seen through a younger lens, made for the way we live now.
Hand Block Printing
Rooted in Jaipur’s centuries-old printing tradition, each design is carefully stamped by hand using carved wooden blocks, making every print naturally one of a kind.
Kala cotton weaving
Woven from indigenous Kala cotton, this craft celebrates raw texture, durability, and the beauty of slow weaving traditions rooted in Gujarat.
Embroidery: Kantha
Kantha embroidery is created through delicate running stitches layered by hand, adding softness, texture, and a beautifully lived-in character to every textile.
